My Journey as an Artist
Way back when I won the school art prize in Harare, Zimbabwe, I was encouraged to apply for the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town where I spent a little under a year before changing my degree…. My single worst decision!
Since then, I have dabbled and explored oil painting, attending wonderful art studios, and loving every moment painting landscapes from my travels, still lifes and anything that I find to be beautiful.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa I am inspired by the light of the Dutch Masters and the movement of the Impressionists. I have recently taken the decision to move away from the events industry and wholly immerse myself into turning my canvas into timeless stories, capturing moments, one brushstroke at a time.
This is the beginning of sharing my artistic journey and look forward to you joining me on this creative odyssey.

I am currently expanding my technical skills by working on small canvases of still lifes (what I call my ‘Kitchen Art’ series) in the egg tempera process as used by the Dutch Masters.
I also have an African bush series planned, featuring the landscape so unique. I will explore the use of using foil on medium to large canvasses.
Plus, I’m having fun with pastel drawing on my trips in Mozambique and Mauritius
Again, Maya Angelou, says it all for me…….
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to
thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some
style."
